We looked at policy makers, party leaders, fundraisers, lobbyists, labor unions, businesses, and associations and have assembled the ultimate list of Oregonians with clout, with an impact on politics and government in the Beaver State."

OBA Craft Brewers Celebrate 21st Annual Oregon Brewers Festival

Craft brewers from across the state and across the nation are in Portland today kicking off one of the most popular events of the summer.  The 2008 Oregon Brewers Festival will take place from Thursday, July 24 through Sunday, July 27.  Participating breweries include OBA members Cascade Brewing Company, Deshutes Brewery and Rogue Ales, with additional support provided by distributors Mt. Hood Beverage and General Distributors, Inc.

The Oregon Brewers Festival is a true reflection on the immense popularity of American craft brewing, and the fact that the festival continues to draw vast crowds 21 years after its inception is a strong testament to the public's loyalty toward craft brews.  More than 60,000 people will flock to Tom McCall Waterfront Park to celebrate the 21st annual event, generating an economic impact of approximately $1.5 million for the city of Portland.

The purpose of the Oregon Brewers Festival has always been to provide an opportunity to sample and learn about craft beer.  The number of breweries participating has more than quadrupled from that first year, now with 73 craft breweries from across the county showcasing a score of beer styles ranging from Amber to Wit.
