Share Your Success: Contribute and Learn New Ideas

We've been thinking a lot lately about how we can help teachers create a positive, inspirational and safe learning environment for all students. What we realized as we sat down and started talking about this, is that many of the best ideas we've accumulated over the years have come straight from those who know best - educators in the field.

In keeping with our emphasis on the importance of peer collaboration, we've formalized this process a little bit so that we can capture all of the best ideas out there and compile them in one place.

We invite you to take a moment to visit our dedicated contribution page to share some of your most powerful strategies with us. In return, we'll make sure that you receive a copy of the final report as soon as its completed.

Save the Date: (And $50 off the 2008 PTL Conference!)

Mark your calendars, the 2008 PTL Conference is set for August 11th and 12th. Since we were west of the mountains for 2007, we'll be in Cheney, Washington this time around. We're busy finalizing the exact location and other details, but we wanted to make sure that we got the dates to you as soon as possible.

Among other things, we're introducing a "New Users Strand" this year, which will focus on delivering an overview of Powerful Teaching and Learning practices.  We'll also have a Leaders strand and a Classroom Implementation strand.

In order to make sure that we host the most useful, informative, and inspiring conference possible, we have set up a special page for collecting your ideas. In exchange for your thoughts and input, we're offering $50 off the cost of your conference registration. This $50 discount applies to the early-bird rate as well!

Online registration is now open and details will be added as soon as they become available.

WSASCD Conference Report

Alison and Heather just returned from an inspiring and energizing trip to the WSASCD Conference where Alison had been invited to present Powerful Teaching and Learning at the pre-conference session. They also had a chance to present an Introduction to Extraordinary Leader and were thrilled with the enthusiastic response to this incredible leadership training program (by the way, Zenger-Folkman was recently named #1 for best leadership programs and practices by Leadership Excellence for the second year running).

We're excited about the new contacts they met, and the opportunity to bring Powerful Teaching and Learning practices to even more districts in the Pacific Northwest.

Leadership Training Launches in Portland Public Schools

Our partner, The Leadership Innovations Team, recently began working with leaders in the Portland Public School District to train a small group of internal coaches. The program has been met with great enthusiasm and we are already working on expanding the training to others in the district.

We're excited about this new relationship and thrilled to add Portland to our list of Oregon districts. They're taking a unique approach to leadership training implementation and we can't wait to be able to share details with you as the program takes hold.
