OBA Member to Serve as Legislator

Long time OBA member Chis Harker was sworn in Wednesday as the newest member of the Oregon House of Representatives.

Chris was selected by Washington County Commissioners last week to fill the HD-34 seat, left vacant by now - Sen. Suzanne Bonamici (D-Beaverton).

“Chris will be a valuable addition to the House,” said House Majority Leader Dave Hunt.  “Two of the most important things we’re fighting for are good, stable jobs and affordable, accessible health care.  Chris’s experience as a small business owner and medical researcher will not only benefit his constituents in Washington County, but Oregonians across the state.”

Chris is President and Founder of Cayuse, Inc., a top provider of software for obtaining federal grants.  Cayuse delivers a hosted Web solution created specifically for Grants.gov and the complex federal grant proposal process.  Cayuse now employs fourteen people at its Beaverton headquarters and has been an active OBA member company for several years.

From comprehensive health care reform to sensible investments in our education infastructure, OBA looks forward to working with Rep. Harker in taking on the challenges facing our state and making sure that Oregon continues to be a great place to live and work.
